Developed by our non-profit partners at ISCBC, this resource offers up their 'Top 10' activities to teach & learn about invasive species!

This resource will allow you and your learners to: 

1. Connect to place and nature with active outdoor learning for many ages and curricular subjects
2. Enhance student observations and reflections of native and invasive species
3. Produce copy and observation sheets to reduce prep time (minimal materials needed)
4. Play ‘on-the-spot’ active games while learning about invasive and native species!

This resource supports the learning for the Invasive Species Education Kit.

Teaching About Invasive Species is designed as a tool kit. Educators will find in Green Teacher’s new book the innovative perspectives, program ideas, games and activities that they need to engage young people from 6-19 years of age in this challenging topic. Invasive species, if unchecked, will continue to have significant negative impacts on our environment and on our economy.

Fortunately, the spread of many invasives can be checked. To succeed, we’ll need effective education strategies to be widely deployed. This book aims to fill that gap. Included in its pages are descriptions of 11 innovative youth education programs and 20 ready-to-use activities that are appropriate for various age groups.

A folding pocket guide to North America's most aggressive invasive species.

Handheld boot brushes allow people of all ages to take an active role in preventing the spread of invasive species. Invasive species are master hitchhikers and we can inadvertently spread them to new locations when they cling to us, our pets, vehicles, and gear.

These lightweight & affordable backpacks allow each student to store & transport their outdoor learning equipment & resources. The size of main pouch is 45cm high x 32.5cm wide x 25cm deep. Straps can be manually adjusted for length. They are suitable for grades 3+ (including teachers!) but can be adjusted to make shorter for younger/smaller students.

Care Instructions: Hand wash in cold water with like colors. Hang or lay flat to dry only. Do not machine wash, do not machine / tumble dry. Do not bleach.
